A Morning Ritual for a Slower, More Intentional Day
Ten minutes, before the world wakes up, that will change the shape of your entire day. No app, no equipment — only you and your breath.

How you begin the morning is a quiet vote for the kind of day you'd like to have. Here is the simple ritual I return to, wherever in the world I wake up.
1. Before the phone
The first thing you meet each day sets the tone. Let it be your own breath rather than a screen. Keep the phone in another room, if you can.
2. Three slow breaths
Sit on the edge of the bed. Inhale for four, exhale for six. Do this three times. That longer exhale is a message to your nervous system: we are safe, we can begin gently.
3. One honest question
Ask yourself: what would make today feel meaningful? Not productive — meaningful. Let the answer be small.
A day is long enough to change a life, and short enough to begin again tomorrow.
4. Move for two minutes
A few gentle stretches, a forward fold, a long reach to the sky. Nothing ambitious. Just enough to remind the body that it is welcome here.
That's it. Ten minutes, most of it spent doing very little. And yet — try it for a week and notice how differently the hours arrange themselves.
